Management Team
Robert Dishman, Ph.D., Chairman, CEO and President
Dr. Dishman is a serial entrepreneur in the biotechnology industry with an impressive history of bringing new technologies to market. Prior to founding Tarpon Biosystems Inc., he founded or cofounded six biotech companies, each of which have achieved successful exits for their shareholders; three achieved successful IPO's and three were sold in strategic acquisitions. In all, companies founded by Dr. Dishman or companeis were he held executive management positions, have gained hundreds of millions of dollars of value for their investors.
Ard Tijsterman, Director, Vice President
Mr. Tijsterman, is a Managing Director of Xendo Manufacturing B.V., a leading, independent consulting and project management organization in the life sciences, pharmaceutical and healthcare fields. Mr. Tijsterman has twenty years of experience in biopharmaceutical process development, manufacturing, QA, and validation.
John Conley, Director
Mr. Conley has over 17 years of business expertise from business development and finance positions in leading biotechnology companies in North America and Europe including Biogen-Idec. Mr. Conley was Vice President of Business Development at Transkaryotic Therapies through its acquisition by Shire Pharmaceuticals and a co-founder of the RNA interference company therapeutics company, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals.
Peter Rock, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Rock has held various financial positions in biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Peter previously spent five years as vice president and corporate controller of Dyax Corp., a biotech company with revenues of $33 million a year. While at Dyax, Peter helped to secure $32 million in venture financing, and raise $69 million in IPO funding. Prior to Dyax, he held financial management positions with Avery Dennison, AEG Schneider Automation, Inc., and United Technologies Corporation. He received a B.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and holds an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Lynne Bartkowski Frick, VP Business Development
Mrs. Frick has over 25 years of sales, marketing and business development experience including positions at the Waters/Millipore, PerSeptive Biosystems (now Applied Biosystems) and Contract Manufacturing organizations. She has served as Director of Outsourced Development at a Boston-based biotech startup, Vice President of Business Development for BioFlash Partners, which was acquired by Repligen in early 2010 and as a consultant to various tecnololgy companies leading commercialization efforts of new prodcuts and technologies. In addition to sales and marketing, she is currently responsible for investor relations, assiting with fundraising and strategic planning/ partnerships. Mrs. Frick has a B.S. degree in biology from the University of Vermont.
Thomas C. Ransohoff, Consultant
Mr. Ransohoff has over twenty years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, in areas ranging from product and technology development to cGMP manufacturing. In addition to his current leadership roles at Tarpon Biosystems and BioFlash Partners LLC, Mr. Ransohoff is a Senior Consultant with Bioprocess Technology Consultants, a leading biopharmaceutical CMC consulting firm. Mr. Ransohoff's previous experience includes senior positions with business unit and operational responsibility at TranXenoGen, Dyax, Repligen, and Xoma. Mr. Ransohoff has a Bachelor's degree from MIT and a Master's degree from UC-Berkeley, both in Chemical Engineering.
Marc Bisschops, Ph.D., Acting Scientific Director
Dr.Marc Bisschops is a consultant to Tarpon Biosystems and its acting Scientific Director. He is employed as Senior Director,Technology Development at Batavia Bioservices B.V.. Leiden, NL. Dr. Bisschops has established a significant track record in completing projects related to continuous chromatography and SMB technology. With over 150 projects completed, he is one of the leading scientists in this area. He is the inventor of core technology to enable fully disposable, continuous processing, an integral part of Tarpon's proprietary technology portfolio. He is a permanent invited guest lecturer at various postgraduate courses in Europe. Marc Bisschops holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Biochemical Engineering, both from Delft University of Technology (NL).
Steve Allen, Director of Engineering and Manufacturing
Steve has 20 years of experience of successfully negotiating with vendors for process equipment at Millipore, Waters and Biotage which involved direct line responsibility to manufacturing, supply side management, and process system validation through FAT testing. Before joining Tarpon, Mr. Allen was the Director of Technical Services at Avecia Biotechnology and Manager of Engineering for Hybridon where he managed the operation of Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Metrology and Validation.
Scott Fulton, Co-Founder
Mr. Fulton is one of the founders of Tarpon Biosystems and the founder of BioSystem Development, a company with a novel assay technology platform. Mr. Fulton has 28 years of experience in the life science and biopharmaceutical industry, including leadership positions at Genzyme Transgenics, Perseptive Biosystems and Amicon. Over the course of his career, he has been responsible for the successful development, marketing and technical and sales support of over 15 separation media, instrumentation and process system product lines.
